The Business for Peace Foundation is an international non-profit organisation based in Oslo. Founded in 2007, it was established to promote the idea that ethical and responsible business leadership is essential to building more peaceful and prosperous societies. Through the Oslo Business for Peace Award the Foundation honours global business leaders who demonstrate that profitability and positive societal impact can go hand in hand. Award honourees are selected by an independent committee of Nobel Laureates in Peace and Economics. Beyond the Award, the Foundation convenes business leaders, academics, and policymakers to advance the concept of “businessworthy leadership” - a model of leadership that recognises the broader responsibility of business to society. The Foundation works globally with partners across business, academia, and civil society to strengthen the role of responsible business as a force for peace, trust, and long-term prosperity.
